Health and safety in schools is something we all should be aware of.

Schools worldwide have changed a lot since the early days and the safety of the pupils should always be a big priority for any schools. After all they are the one that we give importance to while they are in school premises. I think that over the years the government and the education department have done a good job on making sure that the students are in the safest and their health is on top priority. With a lot of danger lurking just in shadows of school yards, sickness, accident, disasters etc. are hard to ignore when it hits you but by giving extra time to prepare for the safety of the students is always a plus for sure.

How safe is your child in his/her school?

That’s a question every parent should know and be aware of.

Actually it is up to the kind of school the children attend. There are schools that pride themselves in safety of their students; there are some that lack security or facility to ensure the health and safety in schools. That is something that the community should look closely for in a school.
We all know that the schools  our children attend should always be the safest for them. Adding security systems is always a big addition for schools to enhance safety. For health, the school should always be updated on epidemics and viruses so they can prevent them as soon as they hit.

Of course, the safety of the children is always top of the priority list of any school. It should be next to academics and just ahead of athletics. It should start inside the class of course; the teachers should always keep their students aware of the safety measures that the schools do for them to make sure that they are always at their safest. Health and safety in schools should always be looked at closely by the authorities because whether we like it or not, there are actually schools that lack security for the safety of the children. It’s sad but it is reality as well. That is why the government is walking the extra mile to try and make ends meet for schools.

Seeing how other schools evolve from what it was before in terms of safety of the students and health as well, you would be surprised about how fast a school can acquire the knowledge and the necessary equipment to deliver the best quality of health and safety.
That says a lot for any school that gives importance to their students. I think any parent will choose a school that not only boasts a good academic standard but also a good standard in the safety of their students. Some schools pay less attention to it, focusing on other standards such as athletics to gain prestige – but what is prestige if your students are at risk every time they enter the school yard?

Health and safety in schools should prevail at the end of the day because a safe and healthy school is a smart school.
