Donna asks…

How do you get rid of a urine smell in a room?

My son has a bedwetting issue, and his room is starting to smell like urine. It’s not the bed itself, as it smells even when there’s a new mattress on. Airing out the room is only marginally effective. I’d rather get rid of it naturally than keep an air freshener turned on permanently, so what can I do?

admin answers:

Yep lysol works good and so does opening the window regularly. My 10 year old brother is incontinent and wears protection for it and we have the same problem.

He’s not 18 till November but we gave our permission for him to start in September. He’s very hygenic and wears protection (diaper) so I don’t see why it should be a problem. But I need to make sure.

Where can I get help with bedwetting ?

I’m 14 & I wet the bed, is there anyplace I can meet kids with the same problem & talk to them about it?
Most of the message boards are full of weirdos.
I have seen my Dr. & a few specialists, I should outgrow it soon. Besides the bedwetting which doesn’t happen too often, I have overactive bladder syndrome & I take meds for that. I have lots of adults to talk to, but I’d like to talk to kids with the same problem.
Sorry, I don’t contact strangers online.

What are the causes of bedwetting?

What are the main causes of bedwetting? For me, I think it’s that my bladder’s too small. How can I enlarge it, besides holding my pee in longer and stopping and going while I’m peeing?

Because of the discomfort and embarrassment associated with his childhood bedwetting, Andrew becomes nervous whenever he senses an urge to urinate. If genital arousal subsequently makes Andrew unusually anxious, this would best illustrate:

                a) shaping.
                b) generalization.
                c) spontaneous recovery.
                d) secondary reinforcement.

Bedwetting seems to occur only occassionally. When it does happen, it will go on for about 3-4 nights (sometimes more than once a night) and then ceases for 2 to 3 months.

How can I know when my bedwetting is over?

How long do I have to stay dry to know that my bedwetting is over?
btw: the reason it’s under religion is because I noticed it’s very popular and health isnt quite so much, especially bedwetting and it’s a real problem
